Collage / Mixed Media / Art Journals = Create NJ

I'm always looking to take an art class/workshop but never seem to find anything I would be interested in near me. I was surfing the web one day and found out about the Create retreats and they are holding one in NJ. Can't tell you how excited I am. It will be held in July.I will be taking 4 workshops in 3 days ( wish I could take more but have to watch my pennies). The classes I am taking are....
Story Block Collage, Magical Marker Mystery Tour, The Heart of Art, Circus Tent Collage,

I have been wanting to learn about all these great techniques and now I have a chance. I am a little intimidated though so I started watching videos and boy, what great art there is out there. I absolutely feel in love with Teesha Moore, She inspired me to do this piece

I had to try and see what I could do, so I dabbled a little. I don't think it came out too bad. I hope to find more time to work on some things before the retreat.

After I finished this, my daughter opened a fortune cookie and got this, I stole it!

A little bit more about me

I really don't get into my personal life so much, but there are times when I feel I have to let some out.
I have three wonderful daughters. My oldest will be 14 in a couple of weeks, middle just turned 11 and my youngest will be 7 in about a month and a half. All spring babies. The youngest was born prematurely (@28 weeks). Very scary at first, she was in the NICU for two months. Wow, that seems so long ago! Anyway, I am one of the lucky ones, her only issue is that she does not walk or sit up independently. She has cerebral palsy (CP). She has had a few botox procedures in her legs, but this past week we tried some thing different, She has alcohol blocks done plus more botox. Its a waiting game to see if this helps to stretch her. It won't help her walk independently but we hope it will get her to walk with assistance. She is such a champ, never cries about any of this and just goes with the flow. Here are some pics of my brave little girl

When we were leaving the hospital, in the parking garage, I noticed a great view of NYC.

what kind of bird is this???

Just created this funky folk art bird using Das air dry clay and a large liquid soap bottle. You know, the economy size. When I saw the shape of the bottle, I knew something could be made with it. It really has a unique shape. The head is aluminum foil rolled into a ball.  It's for sale on etsy.
