Gifts for teachers

I usually get my daughter's teachers and therapists Dunkin Donuts gift cards, cause everyone likes DD. But this year i went another route. I bought chocolate covered pretzels for the aids and therapists. For her teacher, I wanted to get something different. I looked around, didn't find anything I really liked within my budget so I decided to make her something.  I came up with this cute little Santa sculpted from paper clay.

New Techniques

I bought this book last week, I think. The days are flying by. I can't wait to try some of the techniques, they look really fun and interesting. I get so excited when I find a great art book. I could never find any workshops or classes around here, so basically I'm on my own. If you ever hear of any in the Northern part of N.J., let me know.

Morristown, NJ Holiday craft show

You just don't know what you will find at a craft show. Today I went to one with my mother. I'm really not into fine crafts but my mom talked me into going. I saw the most unbelievable ceramic sculptures. More like very fragile art dolls. You have to take a look at Valerie Bunnell
All of her work is fabulous. Thanks for making my day.

This could be fun....

Whenever I'm googling something, I usually end up finding something else that peaks my interest. I came across this site. Swaps
I am very excited about it. There are so many creative people around the world and would love to be able to get some of their stuff. Maybe one day I will be able to host a swap through here.

It's after 12pm, what have I done so far?

Even though it's like sixty degrees outside, I decided to look for a new winter jacket. Never know when the weather is gonna change.
I try to be as thrifty as I can and if the pockets weren't ripped to shreds (the one I have now) I wouldn't be getting a new one. I actually bought one, wasn't in love with it, returned it and bought a cheaper more practical one.
Well now since that's done, I better go and start creating.

How I got to where I am

Well I finally decided to start blogging. I'm not much a writer but I am going to try and make the effort. I am not too computer savvy so I hope to learn as I go along.
I have been selling my art for over 13 years (that is how old my oldest child is). Started selling paper mache objects in a small gallery in NYC (which is now closed), then started doing craft shows but the fees became too much and not enough people buying. I did love talking with customers but with 2 small ones and another on the way, I had to make a choice. That was about 7 years ago. Since then I have been selling through eBay and Etsy. I now use paper clay for sculpting or I paint with acrylics on canvas.

Just trying to get my name out there.
